Since 1996, Francis's DogHouse has independently provided information to help facilitate reputable (but underfunded) animal rescue efforts around the US. Empowering rescue personnel to maximize Internet usage in the rehoming process for dogs, fundraising, & public outreach, FD also facilitates the public's contact with rescuers so good samaritans who rescue a dog off the streets can get support, & lost dogs can be more efficiently reunited with owners. Averaging thousands of monthly page requests, Francis's DogHouse has been able to help a lot of people & dogs--& also raise money for offline efforts via its online store and donation programs like this one.
Proceeds are distributed to rescues at a time when a lot of them are slammed by the demands of the holiday season. FD's Canine Christmas shelter donation program helps shelters obtain badly needed items or cover expensive medical costs for animals currently needing care. Assistance comes as a direct monetary donation to a shelter or as aid in obtaining a badly needed pre-used item from some other source. Every attempt will also be made to meet emergency needs that occur outside the holiday season , and as more money is raised, we hope to eventually be able to fulfill all requests we receive.
