Details from Freewheeling Press Six Mile Run Reservoir The first thing you’ll probably ask yourself as you start this ride is “where’s the reservoir?” The answer is “right here” and “there really isn’t one … yet.” Confusing? Not really. According to the park brochure, development of this project won’t begin until around the year 2020, giving cyclists ample time to explore this hidden off-road resource in central New Jersey. In contrast to the nearby Delaware and Raritan Canal towpath, which is quite flat, this route uses rolling doubletrack (watch out for the groundhog holes!) as well as narrow singletrack with occasional trail obstacles and possible shallow water crossings. ... NOTE: Maintenance on the trail at Six Mile Run Reservoir seems ro havw been a hit-or-miss affair of late. It might be best to call first to make sure the trail is passable before you travel out that way. To download the full description and map for the ride, just click "Pay Now."
