Details from Freewheeling Press Double Trouble State Park Located southwest of Toms River on the edge of the New Jersey Pine Barrens, Double Trouble State Park is one of the highlights along the New Jersey Coastal Heritage Trail. Developed primarily for touring by car, the "trail" will link historic, cultural, and natural sites along a 300-mile route from Perth Amboy south to Cape May and from Cape May northwest to the Delaware Memorial Bridge. The historic village at Double Trouble includes a restored sawmill and cranberry packing and sorting house, with several active cranberry bogs nearby. Other activities available at the park include a self-guided nature walk and canoeing on Cedar Creek. This ride goes through just a small portion of the 5,000-acre park on a wide, hard-packed dirt-and-gravel route that is suitable for all bikes with wide tires. ...
