"Out of the Tangled Years" is a 1994 release from Icebird Record Company. It is the third of six Steve and Kristi Nebel CDs. This project features alot of synthesizer, drums, and electric guitar as well as taking outings into the standard Steve & Kristi folk feel. Stylistically there are excursions into "new wave" synth based pop, country rock, and in the case of "The Tangle of the Years", folk rock. Instrumentation includes a fine slide guitar part on "We're Comin' In" by Mike Nelson. "Listening to Music With The Vacuum Cleaner On" is as much fun as it sounds like it is. From "Outback of Bohemia": "Somewhere in the outback of Bohemia Somewhere in America tonight Though a hurricane of darkness Spreads shade upon the light Someone keeps a candle burning bright In the outback of Bohemia tonight Most of them will never see big money Most of them will never know great fame Some of them have money Some are working poor All of them keep embers for the flame In the outback of Bohemia tonight." "Steve and Kristi Nebel cover all corners from pastoral descriptive material to sardonic reflections on modern life. . .
